  • Kavach 4.0 is an indigenously developed, upgraded version of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system requiring SIL-4 safety certification.
  • It aids the Loco Pilot by automatically applying brakes if the train exceeds specified speed limits and ensures safe operation during inclement weather.
  • Kavach 4.0 has been commissioned on 738 Route km covering Palwal–Mathura–Nagda section (633 Rkm) on Delhi–Mumbai route and Howrah–Bardhaman section (105 Rkm) on Delhi–Howrah route.
