Odisha CM inaugurates India's first Flat Rolled Products (FRP) aluminium unit in Sambalpur

• Odisha Chief Minister (CM) Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated India’s first Flat Rolled Products (FRP) aluminium unit at the Aditya Aluminium plant of Hindalco Industries Limited (Hindalco) at Lapanga in Sambalpur.
• The CM inaugurated a specialised battery foil unit established with an investment of ₹834 crore.
• A foundation stone was laid for the expansion of the smelter plant involving an investment of ₹21,162 crore.
• Hindalco Industries Limited (Hindalco) Managing Director (MD) Satish Pai stated that the total investment in these projects is envisaged at ₹50,000 crore.
• The projects are expected to generate employment for 15,000 youths, including the recruitment of 4,500 women across facilities in Keonjhar, Rayagada, and Sambalpur.
• The CM inaugurated the 25th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Enterprise Odisha Exhibition 2026 in Rourkela.
