Portulans Institute Ranks India 45th in Network Readiness Index (NRI) 2025

• India climbed four spots to secure the 45th rank globally in the Network Readiness Index (NRI) 2025, released by the Portulans Institute.
• The country's overall score improved to 54.43 out of 100 in 2025, up from 53.63 recorded in 2024.
• The NRI 2025 evaluated 127 economies based on 53 indicators grouped under four pillars: Technology, People, Governance, and Impact.
• India ranked first globally in annual investment in telecommunication services, Artificial Intelligence (AI) scientific publications, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services exports, and e-commerce legislation.
• The report placed India second globally in fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and building internet subscriptions, mobile broadband internet traffic, and international internet bandwidth.
• India secured the third position globally in domestic market scale and income inequality metrics.
