Gujarat Government launched a statewide Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination drive under the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) from March 1 to April 15.
Animals are ear-tagged and data uploaded to the Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) portal for digital tracking of vaccination coverage.
The drive targets cloven-hoofed animals including cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats to prevent milk yield loss and economic damage to farmers.
Vaccination is conducted twice every year in March and September as part of the NADCP strategy.
