Maharashtra Government introduces offline photo upload for e-crop registration

• The Maharashtra government introduced an offline photo upload facility for the e-crop sowing registration process to address network connectivity and server issues.
• Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) system now allows farmers to click photographs of standing crops without internet connectivity.
• The e-crop registration system has been operational since 2021 and is being strictly implemented from the 2025-26 period.
• Farmers are mandated to complete the e-crop sowing registration within 55 days of sowing.
• The state government aims for 80 per cent of registrations to be completed directly by farmers, while the rest will be facilitated by village-level revenue officials such as talathis and revenue assistants.
• The e-crop system is based on a platform developed by the Central Government.
