- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra launched Mission SAKSHAM (Sahakari Bank Kshamta Nirman), a sector-wide capacity-building and certification framework for Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs).
- The initiative aims to train approximately 1.40 lakh participants, including board members, senior management, heads of risk, compliance and audit functions, and employees working in IT functions and other critical areas.
- The mission comprises in-person training programmes and e-learning courses, with content delivery in regional languages to the extent feasible.
- Mission SAKSHAM was designed in consultation with the Umbrella Organisation of UCBs and national/state cooperative federations.
