India advances BRICS MSME cooperation agenda under its 2026 chairship

• India has initiated a renewed agenda for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) cooperation under its 2026 chairship of BRICS.
• The Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is tasked with organising three Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Working Group meetings and the inaugural BRICS MSME Forum under the BRICS Partnership on the New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR).
• The first SME Working Group meeting was conducted virtually on April 24 with the theme of Access to Finance for MSMEs.
• The meeting focused on bridging the MSME credit gap through financial inclusion, financial literacy, credit readiness, and fintech-driven ecosystems.
• Delegates from all BRICS member countries participated in the discussions to share policy approaches and best practices for enhancing institutional capacities.
