India and Jamaica Strengthen Strategic Ties as MEA S. Jaishankar Hands Over BHISHM Cubes in Kingston

• Minister of External Affairs (MEA) S. Jaishankar met Jamaican Prime Minister (PM) Andrew Holness in Kingston to explore ways to deepen political, economic, and people-to-people cooperation.
• India handed over 10 Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita & Maitri (BHISHM) Cubes, which are mobile hospital units designed for rapid deployment during disasters and emergencies.
• The handover of the BHISHM Cube system occurred in the presence of Jamaica’s Health Minister Christopher Tufton and Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith.
• As part of the shared cricketing heritage, India gifted a new scoreboard to the Sabina Park stadium in Kingston to symbolise the enduring friendship between the two nations.
• The visit to Jamaica is part of a nine-day tour of the Caribbean by the MEA, which includes official stops in Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
