India and Trinidad and Tobago Sign 8 MoUs During External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's Visit on 8-9 May

• External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar visited Trinidad and Tobago on 8-9 May to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister (PM) Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
• A total of 8 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in sectors including tourism, healthcare, infrastructure, and Ayurveda.
• The agreements include the solarisation of the Ministry of Foreign and Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Affairs building and cooperation in vector control.
• Provisions were made for the infrastructure upgrade of Nelson Island and the establishment of an Indian Chair on Ayurveda at the University of the West Indies.
• India provided machinery worth $1 million for an agro-processing facility and handed over the first batch of 2,000 laptops to selected schoolchildren.
