India chairs inaugural BRICS 2026 Tourism Working Group meeting on 25 May 2026

• India chaired the inaugural Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) 2026 Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting in virtual mode.
• The meeting was chaired by the Joint Secretary (Tourism) in the Ministry of Tourism under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”.
• India's thematic priorities for tourism cooperation include the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in tourism, sustainability and responsible tourism, tourism skilling and capacity building, and tourism exchanges and seamless travel facilitation among BRICS nations.
• The second BRICS TWG meeting is scheduled to be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 19 and 20.
• The BRICS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting is scheduled to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 21 and 22.
