India conducts Samudra Pradakshina all-women tri-service global circumnavigation expedition

• The Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni is completing Samudra Pradakshina, which is India’s first all-women tri-service global circumnavigation expedition.
• The crew comprises 10 women officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force (IAF), led by Expedition Leader Lieutenant Colonel Anuja Varudkar.
• IASV Triveni is a 50-foot yacht built in Puducherry that is expected to complete the 43,000-kilometre expedition in June 2026.
• The voyage commenced from Mumbai on 11 September 2025 and covered over 23,000 nautical miles by 8 May 2026 with stops in Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, and Cape Town.
• The crew is scheduled to cross the equator twice and round three major landmarks: Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn, and the Cape of Good Hope.
