India hosts India Aircraft Leasing and Financing Summit 2.0 in GIFT City on 08 May 2026

Key facts

• Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the India Aircraft Leasing and Financing Summit 2.0 on 08 May 2026 at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
• The summit was jointly organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
• MoUs for new partnerships and investments in the civil aviation sector were signed among Air India, IndiGo, Star Air, Bank of India, IFSCA, and Akasa Air.
• India is projected to become the world's third-largest civil aviation market by 2035 with an estimated fleet of around 2,250 aircraft and leasing opportunities worth nearly 50 billion dollars over the next decade.
• The IFSCA has facilitated the leasing of over 370 assets, with more than 40 aircraft lessors currently operating in GIFT City and transactions completed for over 200 aircraft and 84 engines.
