India to host 3rd edition of Kalam & Kavach on May 14

Key facts

• Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth will inaugurate the third edition of Kalam & Kavach on May 14 at the Manekshaw Centre.
• The conference is themed ‘Taking JAI Forward With I²’ and focuses on strengthening defence preparedness through Jointness, Aatmanirbharta and Innovation (JAI).
• Expected participants include Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and officials from the Ministry of Defence, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), HQ IDS, and the National Security Advisory Board.
• Thematic sessions will cover AI-enabled warfare, autonomous systems, hypersonic technologies, quantum-enabled C4ISR capabilities, low-earth orbit threats, and Tri-service integration.
• The event aims to support the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 by highlighting MSME participation, iDEX-driven innovation ecosystems, defence industrial corridors, and indigenous production capabilities.
