Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) launches India's largest biomedical innovation platform, transfers 41 health technologies to industry

• The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) organised the 'Medical Innovations Patent Mitra: Innovators-to-Industry (I2I) Connect' event at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
• The event saw the transfer of 41 public health technologies from ICMR institutes and innovators to industry partners for further development, manufacturing, and commercialisation.
• Among the transferred technologies were glycoconjugate and recombinant vaccines for typhoid and paratyphoid, along with diagnostic technologies for Japanese Encephalitis, Tuberculosis, and Mpox.
• In a first-of-its-kind initiative, India witnessed the transfer of well-characterised inactivated KFD and Chandipura virus biomaterials to industry partners to strengthen vaccine manufacturing and biomedical research.
• ICMR released the 'Indian Biomedical Patent Landscape Report' and a 'Technology Compendium' to support the biomedical innovation and intellectual property ecosystem.
