IPC signs MoUs with State Pharmacy Councils to strengthen medicine safety framework

• The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the State Pharmacy Councils of Bihar, Maharashtra, and Mizoram.
• The agreements were signed at the IPC headquarters in Ghaziabad by IPC Secretary-cum-Scientific Director Dr. V. Kalaiselvan and representatives from the participating state councils.
• The collaboration aims to promote the adoption of the National Formulary of India (NFI) and establish it as a mandatory reference document in hospital pharmacies across the participating states.
• The partnership seeks to strengthen the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) by promoting adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting and facilitating the establishment of ADR Monitoring Centres (AMCs).
• The MoUs include provisions for joint training programmes, workshops, and awareness campaigns to enhance professional competencies in rational medicine use and pharmacopoeial standards.
