L&T and France's Exail partner for Indian Navy's mine countermeasure systems

• Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and France-based Exail have partnered to deliver an advanced Unmanned Mine Counter-Measure (MCM) Suite for the Indian Navy's Mine Counter Measure Vessels (MCMVs) programme.
• The unmanned MCM suite incorporates autonomous and remotely operated systems designed to detect, classify, identify, and neutralise naval mines in a safe stand-off manner.
• Exail's MCM technologies are already operational with several navies worldwide and have been validated through extensive real-world deployments.
• The collaboration aims to strengthen India's mine countermeasure capabilities, enhance maritime security, and reinforce Indo-French defence cooperation.
• L&T will serve as the prime contractor, offering the unmanned MCM suite to shipyards participating in the Indian Navy's programme for 12 MCM Vessels, with Exail as the technology partner.
