Second Regional Conference on Cooperative Reforms to expand cooperative movement in North-East

• The Ministry of Cooperation organised the Second Regional Conference on Cooperative Reforms in Aizawl, Mizoram, to advance the "Sahkar se Samriddhi" vision.
• The conference included representatives from all North-Eastern states: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
• Participating national institutions included the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), and North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi).
• The Ministry is working to standardise technology platforms across nearly 1,500 urban cooperative banks nationwide to improve efficiency and lower operational costs.
• Under the World's Largest Grain Storage Plan, the Ministry is collaborating with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to streamline storage and improve Public Distribution System efficiency.
• The "Bharat Organics" initiative was highlighted to support branding, packaging, and export facilitation for farmers and cooperatives.
• The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) has been sanctioned a project to conduct a detailed study on cooperative sector revival in three North-Eastern states.
