SkyHop Aviation has received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The company is India's first dedicated commercial seaplane operator.
Test flights were conducted at Tehri Lake in Uttarakhand and the Ganga Barrage in Rishikesh on April 6, 2026.
The airline will begin operations using a 19-seater modified De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft.
In the first phase, SkyHop plans to connect five islands in Lakshadweep with each other and the mainland.
