  • South Coast Railway (SCoR) is the 18th zone of Indian Railways (IR), with its headquarters located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The zone was established under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014 and received ex post facto approval from the Union Cabinet on February 7, 2025.
  • SCoR comprises four divisions, namely Guntakal, Guntur, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam, created by carving areas from East Coast Railway (ECoR) and South Central Railway (SCR).
  • A total of ₹184 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the zonal headquarters on 52.2 acres of land at Mudasarlova.
