Yoweri Museveni Sworn in as President of Uganda

• Yoweri Museveni was sworn in for a seventh term as the President of Uganda on 12 May 2026.
• The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.
• According to the Electoral Commission, Museveni won 71.65 per cent of the vote.
• Museveni has served as leader for 40 years since taking office in 1986.
• Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, received 24.72 per cent of the vote.
