Key facts

• The 16th BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting was held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on June 12 and 13 under India’s Presidency.
• The BRICS Network of Centres of Excellence on Agroecology and Regenerative Agriculture will be initially coordinated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)–Indian Institute of Farming System Research (IIFSR), Modipuram.
• The Network on Digital Agriculture will be coordinated by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi during its initial phase.
• The Global Forum on Farmers’ Rights in Seed Systems will be initially coordinated by the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority (PPV&FRA), New Delhi.
• The BRICS Agro-Inputs, Genetic Resources and Information Network (AGRIN) Framework was established to facilitate information sharing, technical cooperation, and partnerships.
• The BRICS Agricultural Research Platform (BARP) will be transformed into a Knowledge-to-Action Hub to translate research outcomes into practical solutions for farmers.
