The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the Embassy of India in Reykjavik organised the first-ever Indian Mango Promotion Events in Iceland on June 24 in Reykjavik and June 25 in Akureyri.
The events showcased four premium Indian mango varieties: Dasheri, Chausa, Langra, and Kesar.
The India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) is expected to facilitate greater imports of Indian mangoes into Iceland.
India is the world's largest producer of mangoes.
In 2025, Iceland imported mangoes worth approximately USD 3.3 million, primarily from Thailand, Brazil, Cambodia, Ghana, and Peru, with Thailand accounting for nearly USD 1 million.
