Air Suvidha Portal Reactivation and USD 10 Million Support for Ebola Response

• India has activated the Air Suvidha portal for passengers arriving from or transiting through Ebola-affected countries, requiring a mandatory online Self-Declaration Form (SDF) before deboarding.
• The portal reactivation follows the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring Ebola a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
• Union Health Minister JP Nadda announced a financial commitment of USD 10 million for Ebola preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in Africa.
• India has delivered 45 tonnes of medical supplies and offered further assistance in medical, laboratory, and diagnostic materials to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
• During a Virtual Summit organised by the African Union (AU) on June 17, India pledged technical collaboration and capacity-building support for African health institutions.
