Green Energy Corridor Plan: ₹22,000 Crore Outlay

Key facts

• Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a ₹22,000 crore green energy corridor plan to integrate 18 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy into the Andhra Pradesh power grid.
• The plan includes 11 GW of solar power and approximately 7 GW from pumped storage projects under the Green Energy Corridor Phase III.
• The government plans to construct 2,261 km of transmission lines and establish five pooling stations with a combined capacity of 9,500 MW at Mudigubba, Talupula, Ramayapatnam, Porumamilla, and Koppaka.
• Andhra Pradesh is developing the country's first Digital Twin Grid for power supply management, supported by Pravah (an organisation associated with Stanford University and an Artificial Intelligence Lab), to reduce technical power losses in the APEPDCL region.
• The state is establishing the country's first Thematic Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to focus on green energy, energy transition, and cyber resilience.
