Hitesh Rameshchandra Joshi was appointed as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of the General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re).
The appointment was approved by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance.
Prior to this elevation, Joshi served as the Executive Director at GIC Re and held additional charge of the CMD.
His tenure as CMD will continue until September 30, 2028, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
GIC Re serves as the national reinsurer of India.
