India and Bangladesh hold 57th Director General-level Border Coordination Conference from June 8 to June 11

• The 57th director general-level border coordination conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was held from June 8 to June 11.
• The meeting took place at the BSF headquarters in New Delhi, with the Indian delegation led by BSF Director General Praveen Kumar and the Bangladesh delegation led by BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui.
• Both forces discussed measures to prevent trans-border crimes, including the smuggling of narcotics, arms, counterfeit currency, gold, and other contraband, as well as illegal border crossings and human trafficking.
• The BSF and BGB agreed to strengthen coordinated patrols, enhance vigil, improve real-time information sharing, and intensify joint efforts against trans-border criminal networks.
• The two delegations adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards transborder crimes and insurgent activities, concluding the event with the signing of the Joint Record of Discussions on June 11.
