India integrates BrahMos missiles with 40 Su-30MKI fighters

Around 40 Su-30MKI fighters of the Indian Air Force (IAF) have been integrated with BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles.
The IAF operates a total fleet of 270 Sukhoi-MKI aircraft, with the Su-30MKI possessing an unfuelled maximum range of 3,000 km.
The air-launched BrahMos weighs 2.5 tonnes, which is lighter than the 3-tonne land variant, and has an extended range of nearly 450 km.
BrahMos Aerospace, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is developing the next-generation BrahMos-NG, expected to be ready by 2028–2029.
The joint Russian-Indian BrahMos project was launched in 1998, and serial deliveries commenced in 2024.
