Indian Army participates in 23rd edition of Exercise KHAAN QUEST in Mongolia

• An Indian Army contingent is participating in Exercise KHAAN QUEST, a multilateral military exercise scheduled from 20 June to 3 July at the Five Hills Training Area in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
• The exercise aims to enhance interoperability in peacekeeping operations conducted under Chapter VII of the United Nations (UN) Charter.
• The Indian contingent comprises 40 personnel represented by a battalion of the Jat Regiment along with personnel from other arms and services.
• Exercise KHAAN QUEST originated as a bilateral event between the United States (US) and Mongolian defence forces in 2003 and transitioned to a multilateral format in 2006.
• The 23rd iteration of the exercise focuses on tactical drills including cordon and search operations, counter improvised explosive device (IED) drills, and casualty evacuation.
