- The Indian Army introduced 'Army Uniforms-2026', a 174-page manual replacing previous regulations issued eight years ago.
- A new winter uniform, Winter Dress No. 3B, consisting of an angola shirt, battle jacket, and beret, has been introduced for all ranks.
- Officers are now permitted to wear closed-neck bandi jackets as part of formal dress, in a solid, sober colour.
- Women officers may wear sarees or kurta-salwar with ankle-length trousers and dupatta, but sleeveless kurtas, palazzos, and cigarette pants are prohibited.
