Lokhande Prashant Sitaram, a 2001-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, was appointed as the Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
He replaces Rahul Singh, a 1996-batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, who has been transferred as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Varun Bhardwaj, a 2008-batch Indian Information Service officer, was appointed as the Secretary of CBSE.
Bhardwaj succeeds Himanshu Gupta, an AGMUT cadre IAS officer of the 2012 batch.
Varun Bhardwaj will serve in the position of Secretary of CBSE until September 19, 2027.
