National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA): West Bengal becomes 33rd digital legislature

• The West Bengal Legislative Assembly signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA).
• West Bengal is the 33rd legislature in the country to join NeVA, while 21 legislatures have already transitioned to fully digital functioning.
• NeVA is a Mission Mode initiative of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) aimed at creating a paperless, transparent, and citizen-centric legislative ecosystem under the Digital India vision.
• The platform enables digital management of legislative business, including bills, questions, notices, committee proceedings, lists of business, bulletins, and serves as a digital repository of records.
• Participating legislatures receive financial assistance, technical support, capacity building, and implementation assistance from MoPA.
