Second Civil Investiture Ceremony for Padma Awards on June 23

• President Droupadi Murmu to confer the Padma Awards on 65 distinguished personalities during the second Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23.
• The Padma Awards are announced annually on Republic Day and are recognised as being among the highest civilian honours in India.
• A total of 131 awards were approved this year, comprising five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri honours.
• Malayalam actor Mammootty was selected for the Padma Bhushan, while actor-filmmaker R Madhavan and veteran actor Satish Shah received the Padma Shri.
• Telugu cinema veteran Rajendra Prasad was also conferred with the Padma Shri for his career spanning over 40 years and 286 films.
