Tamil Nadu government signs Rs 18,600 crore MoU with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) for three projects.

Key facts

• The MoU between Tamil Nadu government and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) involves a total investment of Rs 18,600 crore and creation of employment for approximately 8,200 people.
• L&T will undertake a Data Centre Expansion Project in Kancheepuram district with an investment of Rs 15,000 crore, generating 500 jobs.
• L&T will set up an Electronics and Electronic Systems Manufacturing Project in Coimbatore with Rs 2,500 crore investment, creating 2,000 jobs.
• L&T's shipbuilding facility at Kattupalli in Tiruvallur district will be expanded with Rs 1,100 crore investment, providing employment for 5,700 people.
• The projects align with the Tamil Nadu government's vision to transform the state into a US$1.5 trillion economy by 2036, and this is the first industrial MoU signed under the government led by Chief Minister V Joseph Vijay.
