The Department of Heritage signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Noor International Microfilm Centre (NIMC) on 15 June 2026.
The NIMC operates under the Iran Cultural House, which is under the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, New Delhi.
The collaboration aims to digitise and conserve 737 manuscripts, 3,091 paintings, 14,522 library books, and 101 archival Dastawazats.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Arjun Rao Kuthadi, Director of the Department of Heritage, and Dr Mehdi Khajeh Piri, Director of NIMC.
The entire cost of digitisation and conservation will be borne by the Iranian partner.
