• The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has initiated a programme to supply high-protein dairy products derived from indigenous cow breeds to the Indian Army.
• A premium dairy supplement known as Skyr, produced using Danish and Icelandic dairy technologies, is being provided to personnel for its high protein and low fat content.
• The dairy products are manufactured from the milk of indigenous breeds, specifically Gir and Sahiwal, using modern ultra-filtration technology and advanced processing methods.
• The product portfolio includes Skyr, Greek yogurt, gelato ice cream, Skyr powder, yogurt powder, paneer, and ghee produced at an advanced facility in Noida.
• An additional modern cattle facility with a capacity of 500 indigenous cows is being developed in Aligarh to expand production and support cow conservation initiatives.
