Adani Defence & Aerospace to invest ₹2,500 crore in missile manufacturing complex in Madhya Pradesh

Key facts

• Adani Defence & Aerospace laid the foundation stone for South Asia's largest private-sector missile ecosystem in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh.
• The company will invest ₹2,500 crore over the next three years to build the facility, which is expected to create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and involve over 50 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
• The Shivpuri complex will manufacture medium- and long-range missile systems and include facilities for composite propellant, TNT, and explosive-grade material production.
• The project is part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme and is being developed in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the armed forces.
• The company's existing defence manufacturing operations in Gwalior produce light machine guns, assault rifles, and carbines, with the Light Machine Guns (LMG) programme delivering 2,000 units to the Armed Forces.
