Government of Odisha signs MoUs with ACME Group and Adani Enterprises for projects worth ₹1.75 lakh crore

Key facts

• The Government of Odisha signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with ACME Group and Japan’s IHI Corporation on July 3, 2026, for clean energy and industrial projects worth ₹67,000 crore.
• Adani Enterprises and UAE’s International Holding Company (IHC) Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 2, 2026, to invest ₹1.08 lakh crore in the aluminium sector, marking the largest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) for the State.
• A 0.4 MTPA green ammonia project will be established at Gopalpur–Tata Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with an investment of ₹20,000 crore and an additional ₹1,000 crore for jetty-less floating terminal infrastructure.
• The industrial plan includes a 0.8 MTPA green ammonia project at Paradip with an investment of ₹34,000 crore and a methanol project involving an investment of ₹12,000 crore.
• The projects are expected to generate employment for approximately 7,000 people and involve collaboration with the World Bank Group and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company.
