Ministry of Education Releases PGI 2.0 and PGI-D Performance Reports for 2025-26

• The Union Ministry of Education (MoE) released the Performance Grading Index 2.0 for States and Union Territories (PGI-S) and the Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D) for the academic year 2025-26.
• The PGI-S uses a grading system with a total weightage of 1,000 points across 70 indicators, grouped under two categories: Outcome and Governance & Management.
• The PGI-S covers six domains: Learning Outcomes and Quality, Access, Infrastructure & Facilities, Equity, Governance Processes, and Teacher Education & Training.
• PGI-S data is sourced from UDISE+, PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, PM POSHAN Portal, PRABANDH Portal, and the Vidyanjali Portal.
• The PGI-D evaluates districts on 600 points across 70 indicators, using data from UDISE+, PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, and the PRABANDH Portal.
• The PGI-D domains include learning outcomes, teacher development, classroom management, infrastructure, school safety, digital learning, governance, and leadership.
