Mylswamy Annadurai Appointed Chairman of Curriculum Design Committee for School Education in Tamil Nadu

• Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Mylswamy Annadurai has been appointed as the Chairman of the Curriculum Design Committee for School Education in Tamil Nadu for a three-year tenure.
• The committee is mandated to modernise the school syllabus for over 1.3 crore students with a specific focus on science, technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and critical thinking.
• Mylswamy Annadurai previously served as the Project Director for Chandrayaan-1, India’s first lunar mission, and as the Programme Director for the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan.
• He was conferred with the Padma Shri in 2016 and served as the Director of the ISRO Satellite Centre from 2015 to 2018, where he oversaw the development and launch of 30 satellites.
• The 14-member committee includes Right to Education (RTE) activist Anantajit Makia, physicist Rita John, scientist T. V. Venkateswaran, and historian K. Rajan, with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director serving as the member-secretary.
