Samriddh Gram Project Wins Global Award at WSIS Prizes 2026

• The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) project Samriddh Gram: Integrated Phygital Service Delivery Model Enabled by BharatNet was declared the global winner at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2026.
• The project secured the top honour under the Action Line C6 - Enabling Environment category, awarded by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) during the WSIS Forum 2026 held in Geneva.
• Samriddh Gram is an integrated rural digital transformation initiative built on the BharatNet backbone to deliver digital services to remote and rural areas of India.
• The initiative establishes Samriddhi Kendras as one-stop village-level hubs that combine telecom connectivity, digital platforms, and assisted physical delivery to provide phygital services.
• The project offers a comprehensive range of services including tele-consultation, Health ATMs, PM Jan Aushadhi Kendras, smart classrooms, AR/VR-based skill development, IoT-based soil testing, drone-enabled spraying, and Banking Correspondent services.
