  • Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the first instalment of Rs 25,863 crore to all states under the Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Yojana (VB-G-RAM-G).
  • VB-G-RAM-G replaced the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act from 1 July 2026 and guarantees 125 days of wage employment per rural household annually.
  • Wages under the scheme are paid via direct benefit transfer weekly or within 15 days, with provisions for unemployment allowance in case of delays.
