India and Brazil sign MoU to deepen telecom and ICT cooperation on 21 August 2026

• India and Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on 21 August 2026.
• The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 12th BRICS Communications Ministers' Meeting held in Pune.
• Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia represented India, while Brazil's Communications Minister Frederico de Siqueira Filho represented Brazil.
• The cooperation framework covers emerging technologies including AI, 5G, 6G, Open RAN, IoT, Direct-to-Device connectivity, LEO satellites, and Non-Terrestrial Networks.
• The MoU also includes areas such as cybersecurity, universal connectivity, digital inclusion, spectrum management, optical fibre, and submarine cables.
