India and China to hold 25th round of Special Representatives' Talks in Beijing on August 25

• The 25th round of Special Representatives' Talks between India and China is scheduled for August 25 in Beijing, with Doval meeting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
• The talks focus on unresolved India-China boundary issues, management of differences, and preservation of peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
• Doval will also call on China's Vice President Han Zheng during his Beijing visit.
• India-China relations came under severe strain after the deadly military clash in eastern Ladakh in 2020.
• Doval's Beijing visit follows his meeting with Wang Yi in New Delhi in June on the sidelines of the BRICS National Security Advisers' meeting.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Tianjin last year, following their earlier meeting in Kazan in October 2024.
• The two leaders reaffirmed that India and China are development partners rather than rivals.
