Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth Received Nepal's Honorary General Rank in Kathmandu

• Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth received the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army from Nepal President Ram Chandra Paudel in Kathmandu.
• The honour was conferred during his three-day official visit to Nepal from August 17 to 19, 2026, at the invitation of Nepali Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
• General Seth received a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Nepali Army Headquarters and laid a wreath at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel.
• The tradition of conferring honorary General rank between the Indian and Nepali armies dates back to 1950 and is regarded as a symbol of close historic ties between the two forces.
• General Seth arrived in Kathmandu with a five-member delegation and was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by Nepal's Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Pradeep Jung KC.
• On August 19, General Seth will attend an Ex-Servicemen Rally in Pokhara, felicitate Veer Naris and gallantry awardees, and interact with Indian Army veterans.
