National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and Association of Australian Education Representatives in India (AAERI) launch digital platform ‘AAERI Verify’

• The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), partnered with the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India (AAERI) to launch the digital platform ‘AAERI Verify’.
• The platform is integrated directly with DigiLocker and enables secure, paperless, and consent-based verification of academic, identity, and financial documents for Indian students applying to Australian universities.
• AAERI Verify was officially unveiled during the AAERI Annual Convention in New Delhi on August 7.
• The digital workflow follows a two-stage framework: a student check before university application and a sponsor check after an admission offer to verify financial authenticity.
• With student consent, DigiLocker provides Australian universities direct access to digitally signed records from original issuing authorities, reducing fraud risk and processing times.
• DigiLocker, a flagship Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative under MeitY’s NeGD, serves over 72 crore registered users.
