Union Minister Jitin Prasada visits Morocco for 7th India-Morocco Joint Commission Session (August 24-25, 2026)

Key facts

• Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada is on an official visit to Morocco from August 24-25, 2026.
• Prasada will co-chair the 7th Session of the India-Morocco Joint Commission with Morocco's Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira.
• The Joint Commission will review bilateral economic and commercial cooperation across sectors including trade, investment, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and digital transformation.
• India and Morocco will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on food safety cooperation between the National Office of Food Safety of Morocco and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
• The two countries will finalise a Cultural Exchange Programme for 2026-2030.
• Bilateral merchandise trade between India and Morocco stood at around USD 4 billion in 2025.
• Prasada will also participate in the India-Morocco Joint Business Forum in Rabat during the visit.
