Visakhapatnam and Moscow Sign MoC for Smart Urban Transport

• The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and the Moscow government signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) to strengthen collaboration in sustainable urban transport, digital innovation, smart mobility, technology transfer, and industrial development.
• The MoC was signed by GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg and Moscow deputy mayor Maksim Liksutov during the 5th International Transport Summit in Moscow.
• The partnership will focus on developing modern and sustainable urban transport systems, intelligent transport systems, digitised ticketing, and integration of artificial intelligence in urban transport management.
• The cooperation also includes exchange of expertise in autonomous transport, participation in urban transport data projects, and collaboration in automotive and electronics manufacturing, energy storage systems, and vertical transport solutions.
• GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg said the MoC marks a significant step in Visakhapatnam's journey towards becoming a globally competitive, smart and sustainable city.
