Visakhapatnam Port Authority Approves ₹334.89-Crore Internal Flyover on August 11, 2026

• The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways approved a ₹334.89-crore internal flyover project at Visakhapatnam Port Authority on August 11, 2026.
• The proposed 3.584-km elevated corridor will connect Convent Junction with the Dock Area.
• The flyover will separate road and rail traffic at nine major railway level crossings in the port.
• The nine level crossings currently see around 18 gate closures a day due to high train exchange volumes.
• The project includes associated civil and electrical works, utility shifting, safety installations, and five years of maintenance.
• The project was approved by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.
• The project is aligned with the PM GatiShakti framework and is scheduled to be completed within 30 months.
