The Department of Financial Services (DFS) was conferred the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Award (2nd Position) under the category 'Maximum Buildings Solarized by Central Ministries/Departments' on 05.11.2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The award was presented by the Vice-President of India during the valedictory session of the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) alongside the 9th General Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen.
Out of 4,144 buildings under DFS administrative control, 2,576 feasible buildings were identified for solarisation, and rooftop solar PV plants were fully commissioned across all of them, delivering an aggregate installed capacity of 61.50 MW.
