India and Jordan conclude landmark bilateral visit on December 16, 2025

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a landmark two-day visit to Jordan, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
• The current full bilateral visit is taking place after an interval of 37 years, following a previous transit visit in February 2018.
• India and Jordan maintain strong economic and strategic ties, with bilateral trade nearing USD 2.9 billion.
• Jordan is a key supplier of phosphates and potash to India, with cooperation also spanning fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, IT, healthcare, defence and renewable energy.
• The relationship spans political, economic and defence cooperation, as well as strong people-to-people ties, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
• The visit to Jordan was the first leg of a four-day, three-nation tour that includes subsequent travel to Ethiopia and Oman.
